Huawei has launched new EMUI and HarmonyOS security patch details for May 2025. The company is bringing another set of security fixes and useful improvements for its devices. It will soon initiate the new rollout for eligible phones and tablets.
EMUI and HarmonyOS May 2025 security details include fixes for 2 high and 9 medium-level vulnerabilities. Note that these CVEs are related to app lock, media library, contacts module, and USB settings, and can exploit the overall user experience.
Besides, the company has also resolved over 25 third-party library defects. It includes 3 critical, 20 high, and 6 low types of CVEs. These fixes shield the device’s system from harmful malware and privacy-related bugs that may result in data leaks.
Speaking of eligible models, Huawei hasn’t updated the device list to receive the new security patch. But the company may soon add the newly launched handsets to the list.
EMUI 15
A previous input suggested that Huawei is currently revamping EMUI 15 for some old compatible models. The new version is available for Mate X6. But the company hasn’t released it for other smartphones yet.
HarmonyOS
On the other hand, Huawei continues to expand the HarmonyOS 5.0 beta program to eligible handsets. In the latest edition, Mate XT is receiving the new testing build.
Inputs reveal that Huawei could introduce HarmonyOS 6.0 software version at the HDC 2025 event or unveil HarmonyOS 5.1 completely for its eligible handsets.
